In 2025, the Expo will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (655 W 34th St, Manhattan, New York) from Thursday, October 30th to Saturday, November 1st, as a prelude to the race on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025.

For three days, thousands of runners from around the world will gather to collect their race gear, explore the latest innovations in athletic equipment, and experience the atmosphere leading up to the most iconic 42,195 meters on the international calendar.

  • Ferry: Service from New Jersey or Staten Island to Midtown West / Pier 79.
  • Bus: M34 line with a stop at 11th Avenue.

The Expo is the only official location where participants can pick up their race bib and materials, connect with the running community, and purchase exclusive marathon merchandise, including the official New Balance collection.

What you should bring

To pick up your runner’s kit, photo ID, and the confirmation form are required.
Runners must have pre-selected a time to pick up their materials through the NYRR (New York Road Runners) dashboard.

Bag Pre-Check: How It Works

Runners wishing to drop off a bag before the race must do so through the pre-check system, which will be available on Central Park West between 69th and 70th Streets, on Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Only the official bag delivered at the Expo will be accepted.
  • There will be no cloakroom service at the start of marathon day.
  • Bags can be retrieved after the race at the same location until 7:00 pm.
  • After that time, uncollected items will be moved to the NYRR RunCenter, featuring the New Balance Run Hub, available on Monday, November 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Featured Activities

In addition to collecting race numbers, the Expo will feature:

  • NYRR Running Lab: Marathon mile strategy sessions, available hourly, with presentations in English and Spanish.
  • NYRR Pace Team and Pace Bands: Free pace bands fitted to the official route.
  • Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) Speaker Series: Talks on preparation, health, and recovery.
  • Citizens Stage: Panels with professional athletes, experts, and sports legends.

There will also be ASL interpreters, breastfeeding stations, and accessible spaces for all runners.

Participation of our app running.COACH and Matthias Kyburz

At the official booth of the Swiss Council (EDA), the running.COACH app will present its innovations in personalized training.
Visitors will be able to:

  • Test the application in an interactive demo area.
  • Get discount codes for our app.

Swiss runner Matthias Kyburz, ambassador for the training app running.COACH, will also be on the start line of the 2025 New York City Marathon. After several standout performances in recent months—across the Seville Marathon, the Olympic marathon, and the half marathon—he arrives to break into the top 10 on one of the world’s most demanding courses.

Kyburz acknowledges that New York is a different race: there are no pacers, the course features constant undulation, and the final stretch in Central Park demands patience and strategy.

“A top-10 finish in New York seems ambitious, but realistic,” he said before traveling to the United States.

The running.COACH team will closely follow his performance on one of the sport’s biggest stages. Follow updates on social media at @Soymaratonista and @running.COACH
