As one of the largest and fastest-growing marathons of the last decade, the TCS Sydney Marathon returns on Sunday, August 31, 2025, for its first edition as an Abbott World Marathon Major. Around 35,000 runners are expected in the marathon and more than 50,000 participants across the two-day festival, representing roughly 100 countries.
The event is owned by Athletics Australia and managed by Pont3, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the title sponsor and technology partner.
The race starts in North Sydney (Miller St.), crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge, passes iconic areas such as The Rocks, Circular Quay, and Centennial Park, and finishes on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.
