A new edition of the Berlin Marathon 2024 took place this Sunday, September 29, under the motto Journey of Joy.

However, this year, for the first time since 2014, the men’s race did not feature Eliud Kipchoge or Kenenisa Bekele, who has won seven times, with two of Kipchoge’s victories setting world records.

Ethiopian runners dominated the race, and many high-level representatives attended the event.

Male winners

The 50th edition of the race with the fastest route of all the marathon majors had as the winner in the men’s elite Milkesa Mengesha from Ethiopia with a time of 02:03:17, improving her time of 02:05:29 achieved in the 2022 Valencia Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon.

The Kenyan Cyprian Kotut completed the podium at 02:03:22, and the Ethiopian Haymanot Alew was just seconds behind at 02:03:31.
