The Frankfurt Marathon 2024 took place on Sunday, October 27. Germany’s oldest city marathon had around 14,000 participants this year. When considering the complementary events, more than 25,000 people were in action. The Mainova Frankfurt Marathon is a member of the Elite Label Road Race events under the supervision of World Athletics, the international governing body.

“We are delighted to deliver another exciting, world-class race that has every chance of delivering a surprise or two,” said Race Director Jo Schindler.

Elite men’s results

The winner was marathon debutant Benard Biwott from Kenya, who had left Gossa Challa from Ethiopia behind. His final time was 2:05:54. This could be the start of a great marathon career for the 22-year-old Kenyan.

Benard Biwott has a best half marathon mark of 59:44 in 2023.

The last time a debutant won the men’s race here was in 2008 when Kenya’s Robert Cheruiyot spectacularly broke the course record at 2:07:21.

Jan Lukas Becker finished his debut in 2:15:49 in 17th place, the fastest German.

Women’s Elite Results

The winner was Hawi Feysa from Ethiopia with 2:17:25, who arrived in Frankfurt with a PB of 2:23:36.

Feysa achieved a new women’s road record of 2:19:10.
