Berlin, April 6, 2025 — With over 30,000 runners at the starting line, the 2025 Generali Berlin Half Marathon once again turned the streets of the German capital into a true celebration of running. Under clear skies and cool temperatures, participants raced through some of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, from the Cathedral to the Victory Column, on one of the flattest and fastest courses in the world.
Men’s Results: Gemechu Dida leads with confidence
Ethiopia’s Gemechu Dida Diriba took a commanding victory in the men’s race with a time of 58:43, showcasing impressive speed and consistency. He was followed by Kenya’s Richard Etir Lodung, and Germany’s Amanal Petros, who clocked 59:31 to complete the podium and claim the top European spot.

Women’s Results: Fotyen Tesfay takes center stage
Ethiopia also swept the women’s podium, led by Fotyen Tesfay Haiylu, who crossed the finish line in 1:03:35 — one of the fastest half marathon times recorded globally this year. Fellow Ethiopians Ftaw Zeray and Alemaddis Eyayu followed her.
