The Mainova Frankfurt Marathon 2025 took place on Sunday, October 26, gathering over 17,000 participants in the marathon distance. Known for its flat and fast course (27.8 m of total elevation gain), the race offered cool and windy conditions, ideal for personal best attempts. The start and finish were located at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds, with the traditional indoor finish inside the Festhalle.
The 2025 Frankfurt Marathon confirmed its reputation as one of the fastest courses in the world. Ethiopian runners dominated both elite fields, with Belay Asfaw (2:06:16) and Buze Diriba Kejela (2:19:34) crowned as champions. Despite the windy conditions, numerous athletes achieved personal bests, including Filimon Abraham for Germany and Abbie Donnelly for Great Britain.
