Are you 40, 50, or older? Do you love running and don’t want to give it up? Are your friends encouraging you to participate in a marathon and you have doubts? Have you already planned your race calendar for this year? We tell you this that you may not know: the AbbottWMM has created a world ranking called Wanda Age Group, which is nothing more than a world ranking system of marathons by age groups. You don’t have to be an elite to be in this ranking.
The best part is that from there, the top age division riders (over 40) are selected for the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championship, and you can be there.
This is a ranking that any amateur or popular runner can participate in – you don’t have to be an elite to be there!
The AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings comprise a year-long qualification period during which athletes in nine different age groups can compete in marathons around the world to earn ranking positions.
The AbbottWMM sets the pace in the marathon industry, providing the largest platform for the sport’s top athletes and offering the only truly global program for the world’s amateur athletes.
The main objective of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Ranking is to give as many popular or amateur runners from the age of 40 and up to 80+ the opportunity to earn points while participating in quality races around the world.

When will the Wanda Championship for 40+ runners be held?
This 2024 is a new edition of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Ranking Qualifying Series. Any athlete who achieves the qualifying time for their age group will be immediately invited to participate in the AbbottWMM Wanda World Championships 2024, which will take place in the Sydney Marathon 2024 on September 15.
Riders who turn a year older, change category during the qualification period, and compete in a qualification race in their new age group automatically move to their new category in the Classification.
The rankings and scores obtained by popular runners during 2023 add up to points for participation in the Wanda Age Group World Championships in 2024.
The AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group includes more than 350 races worldwide to qualify. Runners can qualify for the 2024 World Age Group Championships by participating in any of these events.
What should I do to be in the Wanda ranking?
To start and be in the ranking, you must create your profile on the official website of the Abbot World Marathon Majors, where you will indicate your data such as name, gender, and nationality, among others. Once you have done this, the organizers will collate your results.
Once you have created your user, the next step is to manage the results of the races you run. The future goals you set can also be registered in your already created runner portal, where you will also have access to your running club’s global control panel.
When can I get the results?
The results of the Championship may be claimed at any time up to the closing date of this edition of the ranking. This closing date will be announced by the organizers in due course.
